DELIGHTFUL QUALITY ANTIQUE LAWN/LACEWORK BABY's JACKETCirca 1890

A most lovely, quality hand assembled fine lawn and lace baby's jacket being decorated along the bottom edge with whitework on a floral theme and having a most dainty decorative scalloped edged border. 1 3/4" wide Valencienne lace decorates the front openings to this sweet little jacket, this lace continuing up from the bottom edge of the jacket to neck level where it continues around the neckline. At the neck and waist new silk ribbon has been threaded, these acting as ties and closures to the jacket and two embroidered whitework roundels decorate either side of the front bodice. The long sleeves have the same decoration of Valencienne lace applied to the edges through which new silk ribbon has also been threaded.

Measuring chest......24" approximately length......12 3/4" this beautiful jacket is in excellent condition and having been freshly laundered is sparkling white, free of all stains and damage and ready for use. It does have a small flaw in the fine lawn on the left hand side of the jacket, not noticeable in pictures but nothing of any great consequence.

A most pretty fine quality lawn and lace jacket which will be a most wonderful addition to baby's outfit for that special occasion.
